Hosted by Hibiscus Coast Photographic Society – 10-12 June 2016

Dear Friends
Conferences do not just happen.
The process of conception, creation and delivery of a successful conference is an exercise of monumental effort and sustained management expertise. The regional conference we all enjoyed last week is a perfect example of this. The efficiency with which it was organised and run would be the envy of the most fastidious Swiss watchmaker.
While there were undoubtedly back-room functionaries who delivered vital services in less visible roles, prominent in the glare of the footlights throughout the performance were Akash, Henry, Kathy and Nerissa. And I choose an alphabetical order for recording the names since it would be churlish to differentiate in any way the energy, dedication and professionalism of the contributions made by these four individuals to a magnificent show.
Unobtrusively and without the organisational hitches and hysteria that often accompany events of this nature, we and our guests from all the other centers were professionally fed, watered, entertained, tutored and inspired over three days in an ambience of intimate camaraderie that left one eminently satisfied by the time goodbyes among new and old friends were exchanged on Sunday afternoon.
The Hibiscus Coast Photographic Society can be proud of the mark it has left in the memories of those who attended the conference.
I trust that our members will join me in recording a vote of sincere gratitude and admiration to those who stage-managed a blockbuster show.
