Malcolm Sutton – On your marks get set go

We were camping at Wildlife Camp on the bank of the Luangwa River, Zambia. We were packed up and almost ready to leave for another camp when I was informed that there was a Saddle-billed stork on the river. I had tried a few times over the previous days to capture images of one of these birds in action, but on previous occasions the bird had merely moved around slowly. The light was right so I set up my camera and my luck was in when it danced around fishing and then raced across the water.

Rhona Sellschop – The bush veld catshow

In August we were in Djuma, in the northern area of the Sabi Sands Reserve.  This image was taken in late afternoon light with a Nikon D500 camera and 80-400mm lens set at 135mm.  The  ISO of 400 gave me F6.3 at a 320th with zero EV.  The shot was taken hand-held from a game vehicle in a brief moment when the leopard paused in her stride  to look at us.

Andries Bornman – Cat in the window
Nerissa Naidoo – Raising dust

I watched 2 baby baboons playing at sunset. Every time they chased each other at high speed they raised dust… this was one such moment.
